How long have you been making music and how did you decide to start?
I started playing piano at the age of 6, having previously been impressed by the sound of the instrument in kindergarten.
What song do you remember most vividly from your childhood?
Metallica's Nothing Else Matters is one of the songs that opened my ears to the beautiful in rock and metal music when I was 15.
Who are the artists you've listened to and played the most?
As a typical classical pianist, I have played Bach's preludes and fugues, Beethoven's sonatas and Chopin's waltzes the most and consistently over the years.
In which musical style are you most advanced?
For me it's definitely classical music.
What does music give you?
A unique way of expressing, channeling emotions and dressing them in beautiful structures and forms.
Why did you decide to start teaching music?
At some point, I realized it was time to start giving bits and pieces of what I have received from music and from my teachers over the years.
What is the most important thing to learn in music?
That it is not a path to achieving a goal or happiness, but rather it is something that should bring enjoyment, meaning and added value to the life of anyone involved in music from the very beginning.
What is RockSchool for you?
An opportunity to be part of the contemporary music scene in Bulgaria and to teach more freely and creatively.
What music is valuable to you?
That which brings true and sincere feelings, thoughts and emotions.
What's the most extravagant thing you've listened to lately?
Anything from contemporary free jazz, which I've been listening to purposefully to open myself up to freer ways of expressing myself in music.
Do you have a dream related to music?
To be on a stage, or even just to meet and talk to some of my great idols in classical musicianship, like Daniel Barenboim, Martha Argerich, Katja Buniatishvili or Sonya Joncheva.
